CEI Charity Uganda offers sponsorships/ Bursary programs to health workers (in collaboration with partners).
We also offer certificates, diplomas in nursing, midwifery, pharmacy and clinical medicine.
Uganda's doctor-to-patient ratio is estimated at 1:25,725, with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:11,000. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends one physician per 1,000 people. Uganda needs more doctors and medical staff. This is why we have come up with this drive to help in reducing this deficit.
In addition to medical education sponsorships we offer, we also offer child sponsorship for orphaned children, vulnerable children. A good education can help young people in Uganda avoid the cycle of poverty. Yet, the country doesn't offer public school beyond the ordinary secondary level. As a result, only 17% of the population has a high school certification. Our aim is to provide an educational path for orphans and other children at risk.
The health training programmes supported by CEI lead to the following qualifications: certificates and diplomas in nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, clinical medicine.
